KB0059 - Error During PowerShell Universal Install or Upgrade
Affected Versions
- All PowerShell Universal Versions
Problem
When running the PowerShell Universal MSI on a system that had an older version of the product installed, the user will see an error message that states "The folder path 'C:' contains an invalid characters".
Root Cause
An earlier version of the PowerShell Universal MSI incorrectly set an environment variable that causes issues when installing or upgrading to new versions.
Workaround
Within the Environment Variables dialog within the PowerShell Universal system, delete the UAPATH variable and rerun the installer. Your UAPATH variable may differ from the screenshot below.
