Purpose
The purpose of this article is to provide a timeline around the Template functionality of PowerShell Universal.
Background
Templates were introduced to provide a starting point for newcomers to PowerShell Universal. They have since been incorporated into (or migrated to) the Modules feature of PowerShell Universal.
Timeline
- Version 2.1.0 Templates Introduced
- Version 2.5.0 Modules Introduced
- Version 4.0.0 Templates converted to Modules. Templates feature removed from the UI.
Note: Templates are still available in their original form within the Long-Term stable branch of PowerShell Universal 3.x. Customers are encouraged to upgrade to version 4.x
Conclusion
